It can be used to build applications, which allow the end-user to perform various operations with audio data such as displaying a waveform image of an audio file, filtering, applying various audio effects, examining the frequency components and other details about your audio with the Frequency Analysis, Statistics, and Spectral View features, format conversion and etc.

Supports all major audio file formats: Uncompressed WAV PCM, Compressed WAV (GSM, ADPCM, DSP and others), MP3 (including VBR), MP2, VOX (Dialogic ADPCM), RAW, WMA, G.721, G.723, G.726, Mobile Voice, Ogg Vorbis, AVI (audio), MPC.
MS Visual Basic 6.0, Visual C++ 6.0 and MS Visual Basic .NET samples, that shows how to use NCTAudioEditor, are included into installation.
